Impacts of redistricting on voting rights. At the 1983 general election, 61 percent of the state’s voters approved an independent redistricting commission. Washington Court of Appeals Judge Mary Kay Becker, a member of the first independent commission will be the guest speaker. The League’s state redistricting committee report will be distribute prior to Judge Becker’s talk and make it available through the website to anyone who wants to read it.
