Whatcom Conservation District Candidate Deadline

The Whatcom Conservation District is governed by a board of five supervisors, who are all local residents with a mission to assist land managers with their conservation choices. Formed in 1946, the district serves all of Whatcom County and is committed to fostering a healthy, sustainable relationship between people and the environment.

Candidates Desired
Conservation District Supervisors are public officials who serve without compensation and who set policy and direction for the district. Candidates for this position must be registered voters residing in Whatcom County. The filing deadline is January 7, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.

Notice of Election
Whatcom Conservation District will hold a poll-site and mail-in ballot election for one seat on the District Board. Poll-site voting will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the district’s office at 6975 Hannegan Road, Lynden. The poll-site will be open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m.

Mail-in ballots are available by request only. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is 4:00 p.m. on February 8, 2022. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by March 22, 2022 or hand-delivered to the District office no later than 6 p.m. March 22, 2022.

Voters registered in Whatcom County are eligible to vote in the election.
