Cautionary Tale for Nuclear Power

Talk to Us

Radioactive waste gets buried in one sentence near the end of a Washington State Standard article (https://washingtonstatestandard.com/2026/01/02/nuclear-powerventures-heat-up-around-washingtonstate/) that reads like a promotional ad for Amazon and Microsoft building nuclearpowered data centers in Washington state. This is the plan Bill Gates had in mind at the 2015 Paris climate talks, where Gates (who has his own nuclear power company) was the darling of the Breakthrough Energy Coalition boondoggle at the UN, promoting nuclear power as the solution to climate change.

In 2008, Mother Jones published “4.5 Billion Years in Provence” (https://www.mother jones.com/environment/2008/07/45-billion-yearsprovence/), an expose of the radioactive leaks in France — “a cautionary tale for America’s nuclear renaissance.”
