I have read the September 2025 issue of the Whatcom Watch. The front-page article, “Top 10 Rules Playbook: A Blaine Case Study,” which although discouraging, was well written and important.
The regulatory capture is often common, but the public needs to read what is happening in western Washington. Will those bypassing public comments or sneakily using outmoded state models become more open? Developers and those wanting to make a profit or earn more tax revenues will defend themselves to the end.
The entire article took a large amount of effort to compile data and experience. Thank you for printing it, and other articles you publish.
