Bellingham Climate Action Plan Task Force

At the May 7, 2018 meeting, the Bellingham City Council voted to establish the Climate Action Plan Task Force as part of the 2018 Climate Protection Action Plan. The committee consists of nine voting members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council. The final report on recommended actions and resources needed to achieve greenhouse gas reductions will be delivered in the last quarter of 2019 with the task force expiring on December 31, 2019.

Whatcom County Climate Impact Advisory Committee

At the December 5, 2017 meeting, the Whatcom County Council voted to establish the Climate Impact Advisory Committee. The committee consists of 11 voting members with the council appointing the members. It will advise the council on the implementation of the climate action plan — the goal of the plan is 100 percent renewal energy use for Whatcom County operations. The committee will update the action plan every five years. The first committee meeting was held on March 15, 2018.
